Gulmi: A family of eight from Khanigaon, Resunga Municipality, Ward No. 8, has fallen ill after consuming poisonous mushrooms. The incident occurred on Sunday evening.

The affected individuals include Tom Bahadur Thapa (65), his wife Dilkumari Shrish (62), son Bikas Thapa (29), granddaughters Dipdika Thapa (10) and Binisha Thapa (12), and daughters Karjana Kauchha (42) and Gita Thapa (39). They all consumed mushrooms collected from the Resunga Community Forest.

After initial treatment at Gulmi District Hospital, the family members have been referred to Lumbini Medical College in Palpa for further medical care.

Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution when collecting and consuming wild mushrooms, as many species are poisonous and can cause severe illness.
