David Gaskell dies, the most young devil to debut with Manchester United

The English exporter David Gaskell, the youngest player to debut in the history of Manchester United, died Friday at age 84, confirmed the British club.

Gaskell was only 16 years old and 19 days when he jumped into the Manchester City field in Maine Road in October 1956 after the injury of the titular goalkeeper Ray Wood. The young goalkeeper held his goal to Zero in the 1-0 victory of United in the Charity Shield. Leicester in Wembley in 1963.

“We are deeply saddened by the death of David Gaskell, our youngest debutant and exporter in history. We extend our condolences to his family and friends, ”said Manchester United in a statement
