Cultural events to greet Nepal Sambat

Lalitpur, Nov. 3: Various cultural and creative programmes are set to take place across the Kathmandu Valley to welcome Nepal Sambat 1147, with the aim of preserving the traditional culture, language, heritage, and historical identity of the Newar community.

On the occasion of the Nepal Sambat New Year and Mha Puja, different organisations are preparing to organise cultural rallies, literary events, sports competitions, and heritage conservation activities. 

Nepal Bhasa Manka Khala Lalitpur, in collaboration with Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 16, has announced a series of creative programmes to mark Nepal Sambat 1147.

According to the organisation’s chairperson, Mahendra Maharjan, the programmes aim to promote the historical significance of Nepal Sambat while strengthening social unity and harmony. The activities are being organised in collaboration with 21 different ethnic and cultural organisations.
