He also alleged that attempts were being made to spread misinformation about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), and the electoral process to undermine public confidence in democracy, the Constitution, and the credibility of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Mr. Jaiswal was addressing a press conference organised in Patna on Wednesday (October 28, 2026) as part of the “Loktantra Bachao, Bheedtantra Hatao” (Save Democracy, Remove Mob Rule) campaign. He added that the results of the Legislative Council elections had exposed the contradictions of Congress’s claims.

Senior BJP leader and Arwal MLA Manoj Sharma and Bihar BJP State Media In-charge Danish Iqba were also present.

“Congress had long been demanding elections through ballot papers. However, elections to the Legislative Council are conducted through ballot papers under the preferential voting system. Despite this, Congress won only one of the 28 seats,”Mr. Jaiswal said.

Citing Karnataka as another example, Mr. Jaiswal further said, “Congress had also lost all four seats there. Under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, Congress was continuing to mislead the public and question constitutional institutions despite repeated electoral setbacks.”
