Sydney, Australia – The Nepali comedy-drama film “Chakka Panja 5” has achieved a significant milestone in the Australian market. According to Namaste Entertainment, the film’s distributor in Australia, it has grossed over Rs 1 crore in just four days of its release.
Dev Karki, a representative from Namaste Entertainment, stated that the film’s success is unprecedented for Nepali cinema in Australia. “Chakka Panja 5” is the first Nepali film to reach this box office benchmark within four days.
Karki expressed optimism about the film’s continued success in the coming weeks, especially as the Dussehra festival draws to a close. He noted that the film is attracting a diverse audience, including young viewers and families who have traveled to Australia for the holiday.
Bishnu Prasad Aryal, a viewer who watched the film in Sydney, praised its family-friendly nature. He said, “It’s a simple and enjoyable movie that the whole family can watch together.”
Directed by Deepa Shree Niraula and produced by Aama Saraswati Movies, “Chakka Panja 5” has also been screened in the United States and is set to be released in the Middle East next week. The film stars Deepak Raj Giri, Barsha Siwakoti, and Kedar Ghimire “Magne Budha” and satirizes corruption and bureaucracy.
