Car Accident in Negros Oriental, Philippines Kills Four

Four people were killed and three others injured in a tragic car accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Negros Oriental province, central Philippines.

According to a report from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Xinhua news agency, a car traveling southbound collided head-on with an oncoming cement mixer truck on a curved section of a diversion road in Barangay Batinguel, Dumaguete City, at around 4:00 am.

Initial investigations suggest that the car crossed into the opposite lane, resulting in a devastating head-on collision. The impact of the crash severely damaged the car’s front and tragically claimed the lives of the 45-year-old male driver and three adult female passengers on the spot.

Police have confirmed that the driver and passengers were all from Luzon, the largest island in the Philippines.

The three injured occupants of the car, aged 15, 17, and 19, were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition remains unknown.

The 43-year-old male truck driver from Barangay Tinago, Dumaguete City, was apprehended by police and faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicides and multiple physical injuries.

Local authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident.
