Calvin Jones, champion in Super Bowl XXXI (January 1997) with the Green Bay Packers, was found dead in his home in Omaha, Nebraska, from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning; at 54 years old.
According to information that Omaha police gave to WOWT-TV, firefighters responded to a call about a gas smell coming from Jones’ home on Wednesday night, but when they found the former player in the basement of his home had already passed away.

Calvin Jones stood out as a running back in college football with the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 1991 to 1993. He led the Big 8 Conference in scoring during his freshman season and was named an All-American in his sophomore season.
By his participation in the 1994 draft, Jones had accumulated more than 3,000 rushing yards and 40 touchdowns in college football, prompting the Raiders to draft him in the third round.
