In Roshi rural municipality-5 Sipali of Kavre, Nepal, an unknown group has cut down a homeowner’s Bodhichitta tree and placed an explosive device resembling a socket bomb at their door.

DIG of Bagmati Province Police, Bishnu Kumar KC, confirmed the incident and stated that police are currently detaining suspects for interrogation. The individual responsible for felling the tree and placing the explosive has been identified but has not yet been arrested.

Bodhichitta trees bear fruit used in Buddhist prayer beads and are often sold at high prices.
