Gurugram: A bomb threat emailed to the Leela Ambience Hotel in Gurugram on Saturday morning triggered a massive security operation, causing panic among guests and staff. However, after a thorough search by bomb disposal squads, the threat was determined to be a hoax.
The email received around 9:27 AM, contained a chilling message claiming that a bomb had been planted in the hotel and that an imminent explosion would kill everyone inside. The hotel management immediately alerted the police, leading to a swift evacuation of the premises.
Hundreds of people were safely evacuated as bomb disposal experts and sniffer dogs combed through the hotel and its surroundings. After a five-hour operation, no explosive devices were found.
This is not the first time the Leela Hotel has been targeted by such threats. A similar incident occurred in September 2022, which was later traced to a mentally ill individual.
The police are investigating the source of the latest threat and have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
