Bahrabise: A damaged Bolero vehicle was discovered submerged in the Bhotekosi River near Chhakyaksa, Bahrabise, on Friday morning. The incident occurred on the Bahrabise-Tatopani road section, which connects Nepal to the northern border.

According to local police, two tires of the Bolero were initially visible above the water. Upon receiving the news, security personnel and public representatives rushed to the scene. District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Niranjan Bhattarai confirmed that the vehicle had fallen approximately 50 meters into the river near Borderland Resort. However, the exact circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear.

“The vehicle is completely submerged, with only two tires visible. The number plate is obscured, making it difficult to identify the vehicle until it can be retrieved,” Bhattarai stated.

Based on local inquiries, police initially suspected that the Bolero may have fallen off the road into the river on Thursday evening.

A rescue team from the Armed Police Force and Nepali Army has been deployed to extract the submerged vehicle. Manju Tamang, the Deputy Mayor of Bahrabise Municipality, explained that efforts are underway to use a crane from central Bhotekosi to lift the vehicle.

“Despite multiple attempts, we have been unable to retrieve the Bolero due to increased water flow caused by rain,” Tamang added.
