The body of a man who had been missing for four days after being swept away by the Bakaiya River in Rautahat district has been found. The police identified the victim as 42-year-old Akale Kuswar Majhi of Chandrapur Municipality-2 Judibela.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Laxmi Bhandari, the spokesperson for the Makwanpur District Police Office, Majhi’s body was discovered along the banks of the Bakaiya River in Kolhabi Municipality-2, Bara district.
Majhi had been working on the construction of a highway in Jaspal, Bakaiya Rural Municipality-6, Makwanpur. He went missing on August 21st while attempting to cross the flooded Bakaiya River in Junai.
The body was recovered today during a joint search operation conducted by the Nijgadh Bara Police Office and local authorities. The body has been sent to Kalaiya Bara Provincial Hospital for further examination.
