A significant law enforcement response unfolded along the Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail in Sterling, Virginia, early Friday morning, as deputies investigated the discovery of a body.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the presence of law enforcement between Dominion Drive and Crestview Drive, urging residents and trail users to avoid the area while the investigation took place. The trail section has since been reopened to the public.

A News crew on the scene reported that officers appeared to be closely inspecting an area where the body was discovered, though further details about the identity of the deceased and circumstances surrounding the incident remain undisclosed.

Manassas Park police have clarified that the body found is not Mamta Kafle Bhatt, a 28-year-old mother and pediatric nurse who has been missing for over two weeks in their jurisdiction.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has yet to release any additional information regarding the case.
