Biratnagar: In a significant step towards improving road safety, Koshi Province has installed its first-ever traffic light at Bargachi Chowk in Biratnagar. The initiative, funded by the state government’s budget for road traffic management, was inaugurated by Internal Affairs and Law Minister Lila Ballav Adhikari.
Bargachi, notorious for its high accident rate, is expected to see a reduction in traffic incidents with the implementation of the traffic light. The Morang Traffic Police Office will be responsible for managing the new system.
While the installation of the traffic light is a positive development, Chief Police Inspector Suman Neupane acknowledges that it may take time for motorists to adjust to the new traffic rules.
