Bhupendraa Budha, the vice chairman of Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality in Rukum East, was among three people killed in a car accident in Baglung district, Nepal. The accident occurred on Friday morning when the government vehicle he was traveling in, RA 1 JHA 200, plunged down a steep embankment near Bhungkhani.
The vehicle was carrying Budha and several other people, including employees of the rural municipality. While the vice chairman’s identity has been confirmed, the identities of the other victims are still being determined.
According to local authorities, Budha had recently returned from Kathmandu and was traveling back to his home district when the accident happened. The vehicle fell approximately 300 meters down a hillside.
Rescue teams from the police, army, and armed police forces were deployed to the scene, but the operation was hampered by the difficult terrain.
