Mulpini Cricket Ground – Bagmati Province celebrated their maiden win in the ongoing Prime Minister’s Cup Cricket Tournament, securing an 86-run triumph over Madhes in a gripping encounter. The hero of the match was spinner Surya Tamang, who exhibited exceptional bowling skills, claiming six wickets, including a remarkable hat-trick.

Chasing a target of 191 runs set by Bagmati Province, Madhes faced a formidable challenge as Surya Tamang dismantled their batting lineup, bowling them out for just 104 runs. Tamang’s magical 29th over was the highlight, where he first dismissed Rupesh Singh for 2 runs, followed by a stumping of Rajesh Yadav and a caught Anshu Ansari, completing a hat-trick in a single over. Tamang continued his impressive performance, securing two more wickets in the innings.

Pawan Sarraf emerged as the top-scorer for Madhes, contributing 45 runs, followed by Mayan Yadav with 31, and Niraj Yadav with 15 runs. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to reach double figures.

In response, Bagmati’s bowlers also delivered a commendable performance, with Pratish GC and Ishan Paudel each claiming two wickets, while Rabin Joshi and Ishan Pandey took one wicket each.

Earlier in the match, Bagmati Province, having lost the toss and opting to bat first, posted a total of 190 runs in 49.2 overs. Pratish GC emerged as the highest run-scorer for Bagmati with an impressive 59 runs, supported by Rabin Joshi with 21, and opener Ishan Paudel contributing 15 runs.

For Madhes, Rupesh Singh and Arniko Yadav were the leading wicket-takers, claiming two wickets each, while Rajesh Yadav, Ranjit Kumar, Harishankar Shah, and Pawan Sarraf each secured one wicket.

With this convincing victory, Bagmati Province showcases their prowess in the tournament, leaving cricket enthusiasts eager for more thrilling encounters in the Prime Minister’s Cup Cricket Tournament.
