Army chief confers rank insignia on newly promoted officers

KATHMANDU: The Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel has conferred rank insignia on Purna Bahadur Khatri, who has been promoted to the rank of major general, according to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Army.

At a ceremony held at Army Headquarters (Jangi Adda) on Wednesday, Sigdel also conferred rank insignia on three lieutenant colonels promoted to the rank of colonel.

The ceremony formally marked the officers’ promotion to their new ranks, the directorate said. However, the statement did not disclose the names of the three officers promoted to colonel.
