Along with Spain 2030, FIFA today will award its World Cup to Saudi Arabia 2034, a Cup that is also expected to be spectacular and whose candidacy was classified as the best in the history of the World Cups (419.8 points out of 500).
It will be the first World Cup with 48 teams in a single country (2030 will be multi-venue). The official candidacy, under the motto ‘Growing together’, came with the absolute support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia and leader of the historic transformation that Saudi Arabia is experiencing through sport. “It is the biggest and fastest growth in history,” said the president of the Saudi Football Federation.
The 2034 World Cup will have five host cities: Riyadh (the capital), Jeddah, Khobar, Abha and NEOM, an acronym for New Future, the name of the new city and economic-technological area that Saudi Arabia is building in the northwest of the country, opposite the Sinai Peninsula. These are the details of what promises to be a spectacular World Cup.
Saudi Arabia plans 15 stadiums across the Saudi Kingdom, all state-of-the-art, eleven of which will be brand new. Riyadh, the capital, will host eight stadiums, including the new King Salman stadium with capacity for more than 92,000 spectators and which will host the opening and final matches of the tournament, becoming the new home of the Saudi national team. It will be completed in 2029. Many already believe that it will be the World Cup with the best stadiums in history… and today they also have their big day.
