At least 28 people have died in a bus accident in Marchula, in the Almora district of Uttarakhand, India.
Local media reports say there were around 45 passengers on the bus. The bus went off the road and fell into a river while traveling from Nainidanda to Ramnagar.
According to India Today, 15 people were injured in the accident and have been taken to the nearest hospital.
Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, expressed his sadness over the tragedy. He announced that the families of those who died will receive 4 lakh rupees, and those injured will get 1 lakh rupee for their treatment.
