Kailali: A total of 28 individuals were apprehended in Kailali district for engaging in illegal gambling activities.
On Monday morning, eight individuals were detained in Gaurichok, Ward No. 7 of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City, while they were gambling at Suresh Chaudhary’s residence. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kabindra Singh Bohora, the District Police Office spokesperson, confirmed the arrests. The police seized Rs 88,200 in cash and two decks of playing cards from the suspects.
In a separate incident, 20 people were arrested for playing ‘Kauda’ at the Royal Family Restaurant and Bar, owned by Bhairab Chand, in Gopka, Ward No. 1 of Gauriganga Municipality. The police confiscated six ‘Kauda’ sets, Rs 79,911 in cash, and 18 mobile phones from the detainees.
All arrested individuals are currently in police custody, and investigations are underway.
